Zigbee (via zigbee2mqtt)
The most common protocol for smart home devices. Requires a Zigbee coordinator (e.g., Sonoff ZBDongle-P).
Setup
- Install zigbee2mqtt (runs alongside KULVEX)
- Configure the MQTT broker address in KULVEX Settings
- Pair devices through zigbee2mqtt’s web UI
- Devices appear automatically in KULVEX
Supported Devices
- IKEA TRADFRI bulbs, remotes, blinds
- Philips Hue bulbs (via Zigbee, no bridge needed)
- Aqara sensors (temperature, humidity, motion, door/window)
- Sonoff plugs and switches
- Tuya Zigbee devices
WiFi (Tuya/Sonoff Local API)
Control WiFi devices locally without cloud dependency.
Tuya Local
Uses the Tuya local protocol to communicate directly with devices on your LAN. No Tuya cloud account needed after initial setup.
Sonoff DIY/eWeLink
Sonoff devices flashed with Tasmota or using the DIY mode API.
Matter/Thread
Next-generation smart home protocol. KULVEX supports Matter devices natively.
Z-Wave
Via zwavejs2mqtt. Requires a Z-Wave USB stick (e.g., Aeotec Z-Stick).
